I stalk the river-riders in their wooden
boats.
My delight is their fright...on my water they floats.
Ye canna flee from fleeting hooves nor my stinging voice.
I'll bring ye to m'lair of woe, t' play or dine is mine o'
choice.
O' bane o' the wild is man, I canna abide!
O' shame to them tha' wander through, y' canna hide!
I'll find ye soon, o' human scruff...
An' bind ye to me magic, I'll be th' one who'll play the rough!
Beware, oh man of the town and city.
Ye will noo fin' me with pity!
I am the Kelpie o' the water faire!
Cross m' rivers, oh man...if ye dare!

Info: The Kelpie is a Scottish
water faerie. Although sometimes appearing in the guise of
a hairy man, this is more often seen in the form of a young
horse. The Kelpie haunts rivers and streams and, after letting
unsuspecting humans mount him, will dash into the water and
give them a dunking. Each-Uisge (ech-ooshkya) or Aughisky
(agh-iski) as he is known in Ireland, inhabits seas and lochs
and is far more dangerous.
