Clover Leaf & Flower One of the best detoxification
herbs and respiratory tonics, red clover is especially useful for easing chronic
chest complaints such as coughs, colds, and bronchitis. Red clover is rich in
minerals, most notably calcium, nitrogen, and iron. It is used for all skin conditions,
as it is an excellent detoxifier or blood purifier. It is commonly used in anti-tumor
formulas. Caution: Hemophiliacs or people with "thin" blood (or people
on blood thinning medication) should not use red clover regularly, as the herb
can exacerbate the condition. (Source: Rosemary Gladstar's Family Herbal)

One of the BEST Fertility Herbs:
One of the most cherished of the fertility-increasing
plants is red clover (Trifolium pratense). Common in fields and
along roadsides, it has bright pink (not really red) blossoms from
mid-summer into the chilly days of fall. A favorite flower of the
honeybees, the tops (blossoms and appending leaves) are harvested
on bright sunny days and eaten as is, or dried for medicinal use.
The raw blossoms are delicious in salads and nutritious
when cooked with grains such as rice or millet. To make a fertility-enhancing
infusion, I take one ounce by weight of the dried blossoms (fresh
won't work for this application) and put them in a quart size canning
jar. I fill the jar with boiling water, screw on a tight lid, and
let it steep at room temperature overnight (or for at least four
hours). (Source: Susun Weed, see Herbal

Excerpt
from Matthew Wood's The Book of Herbal Wisdom: "Red
Clover has a long history of use in herbal medicine. It is used as a "blood
cleaner" and "blood thinner" on rather general grounds... often
in combination with other detoxifiers like Burdock and Yellow Dock. Generally,
such remedies act on the lymphatics and the liver to remove metabolic waste products... |
