Cramp Bark
For Painful and Difficult Menstruation
An incredible uterine nervine, cramp bark is remarkably effective for relaxing the uterine muscles. It is one of my favorite remedies for menstrual cramps, and I've also found it to be invaluable in cases of threatened miscarriage due to nerve stress and uterine tension. Dr. Christopher, among the most famous of herb doctors, claimed that cramp bark is "possibly the best female regulator-relaxant that we have for the uterus and ovaries, and it is especially useful for painful and difficult menstruation and for nervous afflictions during pregnancy that threaten involuntary abortion."

Available in 1 oz package. Wild Harvested.

According to Rosemary Gladstar's A Family Herbal :
Like valerian, cramp bark is rich in valerianic acid and is sedating and relaxing: however, its actions are specific to the reproductive system. It is also rich in tannins and is often recommended as a tonic and remedial herb for women - especially menopausal woman - who bleed excessively during their menstrual cycle.
